Our refuge provides a safe, welcoming and supportive environment where victim survivors can begin to rebuild their lives, recover from trauma and work towards a safer future.We are committed to delivering culturally responsive, trauma informed and person-centred support that empowers women and children to regain control, strengthen their wellbeing and achieve their goals.
As a Specialist Family Violence Practitioner, you will play a vital role in supporting women and children during some of the most challenging periods of their lives.
Through compassionate practice, advocacy and meaningful support, you will help create pathways to safety, stability and long-term recovery.
Every interaction is an prospect to restore dignity, build confidence and make a genuine difference.About the roleWe are seeking a passionate Specialist Family Violence Practitioner to join our NT Family Violence Services Refuge team.
You will provide specialist family violence case management, crisis response and advocacy to women and children accessing refuge accommodation,
supporting them to navigate crisis and move towards safer futures.This permanent full-time position within the Family Violence Service based in Darwin, reporting to the Team Leader.
Pay is in accordance with a SCHADS Level 5.How you will make an impactBuild trusted relationships that promote empowerment, self-determination and recoveryDeliver specialist family violence case management and crisis supportComplete ongoing assessments and develop team-oriented, goal focused case plansSupport women and children to access services, resources and community connectionsMonitor progress and adapt support plans as needs changeMaintain accurate records and data using TSA systemsIdentify, manage and escalate risks to support client safety and wellbeingSupport the day-to-day operation of the refuge, helping to create a safe, welcoming and supportive environmentParticipate in supervision and collaborative team processesCreate culturally safe and inclusive spaces for women and childrenWhat you will bringA tertiary qualification in Social WorkExperience in family violence and/or child wellbeing workDemonstrated ability to deliver trauma informed, client centred supportStrong cultural awareness and sensitivity, particularly when working with Aboriginal womenExcellent time management skills and the ability to work autonomouslyStrong written and digital record keeping skillsIntegrity,
