Our client is a leading Australian law firm with a national insurance practice known for its depth of expertise and strategic thinking. Its workers compensation team advises insurers, self-insurers, government agencies and scheme agents, and is now looking for an Associate with 2-5 years' PAE to work alongside a Doyle's Guide recognised partner in Sydney CBD.

About the role

You will manage your own portfolio of workers compensation matters for insurer, self-insurer and scheme agent clients, with close support from the partner and senior lawyers. You will:

- Manage a portfolio of defendant workers compensation claims, including psychological injury matters
- Advise insurers and employers on liability, injury management and return-to-work strategies
- Prepare matters for ADR, negotiation and settlement
- Draft advice, submissions and correspondence for partner review
- Contribute to the team's claims management projects, including its award-winning Psychological Claims Management Pathway
- Build robust working relationships with insurer and self-insured clients

What you'll bring





- 2-5 years' PAE in workers compensation or insurance litigation
- Admission in NSW and a current practising certificate
- Sound knowledge of the NSW workers compensation scheme
- Strong drafting, negotiation and client-relationship skills
- Good organisation and the ability to run a busy file load with growing independence
- A genuine interest in building your career in a specialist national insurance practice
