Kennel Hand / Animal Attendant – Townsville

NQ Care is a 24/7 Emergency and Referral Veterinary Hospital in Townsville, bringing Emergency & Critical Care, Internal Medicine and Surgery together under one roof.

We're looking for dedicated kennel hands to help keep our hospital clean, organized and comfortable for our patients. This is a practical, active role that makes a real difference to the daily running of our hospital and the care we provide.

We have full-time and part time opportunities available. Applicants must be available for rotating shifts, primarily between 6 am and 10pm, including weekends, public holidays and peak periods.

What you'll be doing:

- Cleaning and disinfecting cages, patient areas and hospital facilities

- Preparing cages and bedding for incoming patients

- Walking and toileting patients as directed by the clinical team

- Washing, drying and organizing hospital laundry

- Restocking consumables and keeping supplies organized

- Assisting with patient transport when required

- Helping maintain a clean, safe and welcoming hospital environment

What we're looking for:

- A caring approach to animals and confidence around dogs and cats





- A solid work ethic and willingness to get involved

- Excellent attention to detail, particularly with cleaning and hygiene

- The ability to prioritize tasks in a busy, changing environment

- Good communication and teamwork skills

- The ability to work independently and follow instructions

- A current driver's license for patient transport

Previous experience working with animals is helpful, but veterinary qualifications are not required. We can provide training for someone with the right attitude and commitment.
