Senior Project Manager – Engineering

Location: Sydney West

Reports To: Contracts and Engineering Manager

Salary: 120k to 130k + Superannuation

The Position

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Senior Project Manager – Engineering to lead the successful delivery of complex engineering and manufacturing projects from concept through to completion.

In this role, you will manage multiple projects simultaneously, working closely with clients, suppliers, contractors, internal fabrication teams, and senior leadership to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

The ideal candidate combines strong project management capability with a solid mechanical engineering background and practical manufacturing knowledge. You enjoy solving technical challenges, building robust stakeholder relationships, and driving successful project outcomes in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage engineering projects from initiation through planning, execution, commissioning, and project close-out.
- Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource allocations.
- Lead multiple concurrent projects while ensuring delivery against scope, schedule, cost, and quality objectives.
- Source, evaluate, onboard, and manage external suppliers, subcontractors, and contractors.
- Coordinate with internal fabrication, production, engineering, procurement, and management teams.
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring clear communication and strong stakeholder relationships throughout the project lifecycle.
- Provide technical guidance and engineering expertise to resolve project challenges and support decision-making.
- Review, manage,



and maintain engineering documentation, drawings, specifications, and project records to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Monitor project progress, identify risks, manage issues and change requests, and implement mitigation strategies.
- Ensure compliance with quality assurance systems, engineering standards, and company governance requirements.
- Facilitate project meetings, progress reviews, and executive reporting.
- Drive continuous improvement across project delivery processes and methodologies.

About You

You are a highly organised and motivated engineering project professional with outstanding communication and stakeholder management skills. You can confidently manage competing priorities while maintaining exceptional attention to detail and delivering high-quality outcomes.

You are proactive, commercially aware, technically capable, and comfortable working across both office and manufacturing environments.

Essential Qualifications & Experience

- Demonstrated experience in a Senior Project Manager or Engineering Project Manager role, minimum 8 years.
- Tertiary qualification or trade qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Proven experience managing end-to-end engineering or manufacturing projects.
- Demonstrated experience sourcing, evaluating, and managing suppliers and subcontractors.




- Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
- Sound understanding of quality assurance principles and quality management systems.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes including machining, fabrication, metal casting, welding, and plastic moulding.
- Excellent planning, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with excellent English proficiency.
- High level of attention to detail.
- Professional, collaborative, and flexible approach to work.

Desirable

- Formal Project Management qualification (PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent).
- Experience using project management software such as Microsoft Project, or similar.
- Experience within manufacturing, industrial engineering, mining, defence, or heavy industry.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement methodologies.
