Formwork Carpenter

Salary: $79,423 + super

Experience required: AQF Certificate III including at least two years employment experience or minimum three years employment experience may substitute for the qualifications

Job Objective:

The Carpenter is responsible for the construction, erection, installation and repair of structures and fixtures of wood, plywood, wallboard and other materials.

Job Tasks and Duties:

· Site safety, plant and power tool safety;

· Study specifications in blueprint, sketches site conditions to prepare project layout and determine dimensions and materials required;

· All procedures associated with 1st & 2nd Fixing;

· Manual lifting & handling;

· Cut timber & other materials with hand & power tools, nail & assemble cut & shaped parts;

· Erect framework;

· Assemble and fasten materials to make framework and props, using hand tools and wood screws, nails, dowel pins,



or glue;

· Install structures and move into position;

· Erect scaffolding for assembling of structures;

· Construction of the forms including placement of required supports / propping, connection of shutters via z-bars, levelling of wall and induction of pour height;

· Explain and enforce Occupational Health and Safety requirements and other industrial safety matters;

· Maintain a protected and clean work setting;

· Instruct onsite personnel of lesser experience.
