As a Senior Child Safety Support Officer you will:
Effectively and positively engage with children, families, carers and service providers (including both government and non-government agencies) as required to support children and parents to meet their identified case plan goals.- Provide individualised, high quality, and culturally appropriate supports to children and families subject to tertiary child protection intervention including but not limited to; facilitation of positive family connection, referrals and advocacy for services, parent coaching and support of transition from care plans.- Work collaboratively with key stakeholders, children and parents to support the establishment and strengthening of effective safety and support networks, including connection to extended family and community.- Provide high quality,



comprehensive casework support and advice to assist in informing decisions about the safety and protective needs of children where complex child protection concerns are present.- Participate effectively as a team member in a multidisciplinary team to deliver well-planned family support services to vulnerable children and families.- Actively contribute to a culture of continuous learning, training and career development, to ensure practice knowledge and skills are contemporary and evidence based.- Prepare and maintain quality case records in accordance with departmental case management requirements.
Your mandatory requirements
It is mandatory to have a Blue Card (a current Working with Children Clearance issued by Blue Card Services) before you commence employment in this role. It is recommended that you lodge an application for a blue card as soon as possible to avoid any delays in commencement should you be offered a position with the department.- The ability to undertake overnight (multiple nights at times) travel.- Possession of a current 'C' class driver licence.
Remote and Regional Incentive Scheme payment $5000.00 p.a., locality allowance and subsidised housing for eligible applicant - rent at $134/fortnight.
A requirement of the role is the ability to undertake overnight (multiple nights at times) travel.
Applications to remain current for 12 months.
