Job Summary

Full time Cook required for busy Indian restaurant

We are a busy Indian restaurant serving up delicious Indian cuisine, and we need an experienced cook to join our energetic team.

We are looking for someone with at least two years' experience cooking in Indian cuisine – who is hard-working, organised, creative, and passionate about food and customer service. You will be able to work in a high-pressure, high-turnover environment, have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, be a team player and also able to work unsupervised. You will also be able to work a adaptable schedule including days, evenings, weekends and public holidays.

Job tasks and responsibilities

Study each recipe and gather all necessary ingredients

Cook food in a timely manner

Ensure appealing plate presentation

Slightly modify recipes to meet customers' needs and requests

Monitor food stock and place orders

Check freshness of food and discard out-of-date items

Experiment with recipes and suggest new ingredients





Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations within the kitchen area

Skills and experience

Have formal qualification Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery

2 years' work experience in nominated occupation

Hands-on experience with various kitchen equipment

Ability to remain calm and undertake various tasks

Excellent time management abilities

Up-to-date knowledge of cooking techniques and recipes

Familiarity with sanitation regulations

Able to manage time and work-load appropriately

Be flexible, reliable, punctual, organised and trustworthy

Be passionate about cooking and producing high quality dishes - consistently
