Backpackers Hostel Housekeeping Team Leader manages the daily cleaning of communal facilities and shared rooms, leads a rotating team of staff (often working holidaymakers), and maintains a vibrant, social, yet clean workplace.

working on a set roster 5 days per week 7.30am start till 3pm.

Key Responsibilities
Team Supervision & Motivation: Lead daily briefings, assign cleaning zones, and maintain high morale among a diverse team of international staff or volunteers.
Shared-Space Inspections: Inspect and regularly clean high-use areas including large dorm rooms, communal kitchens, shared bathrooms, and social lounges to ensure strict hygiene standards.
Turnover Management: Coordinate and work along side team members to ensure rapid room turnovers between heavy checkout and check-in windows, tracking bed availability closely.
Onboarding & Training: Train current staff on productive cleaning techniques, chemical safety, and hostel-specific cleanliness guidelines.
Supply & Linen Logistics: Monitor inventory for cleaning chemicals, bunk linens, and guest amenities, and report maintenance issues immediately.




complete room deep cleans: including all aspects of deep cleaning including but not limited to walls, carpets and mattresses.

Required Skills and Qualifications
Experience: Previous experience in hostel, hotel, or commercial housekeeping, with proven leadership or supervisory skills.
Intercultural Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills to lead and connect with staff and guests from diverse cultural backgrounds.
Adaptability & Speed: Ability to work efficiently under pressure during peak travel seasons and handle unexpected room conditions.
Physical Stamina: Capacity to remain on your feet, navigate stairs, and lift laundry bundles throughout the shift.

Pay: $26.44 – $48.75 per hour

Expected hours: 38.0 per week

Ability to commute/relocate:
Highgate WA 6003: Reliably commute or willing to relocate with an employer-provided relocation package (Preferred)

Experience:
Housekeeping: 2 years (Required)
