About the role

The Old Laundry is seeking a dedicated full-time Sous Chef to join our team in North Perth. We are a well established, friendly little neighbourhood restaurant and wine bar open 6 days a week, with breakfast also served on the weekend. We produce daily and weekly specials utilising fresh and seasonal produce. We host regular functions and events in-house and also run a successful external catering business. This full time position has flexible working hours to support work-life balance. The shifts vary from prep based to service based. We are a small team with room for a Sous to support the Head Chef in bringing their own fresh ideas and experience to our team and enriching our offerings.

Key responsibilities
Assist the team with planning and executing seasonal menus for breakfast, lunch, dinner, events and functions.
Supervise other kitchen staff to ensure appropriate standards of food preparation and presentation are being met.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of kitchen operations and procedures, alongside management.

About you




Minimum 2 years' experience as a Sous Chef in a similar leadership role within a quick-paced restaurant workplace.
Function and catering experience will also be looked upon favourably.
Strong culinary skills with a passion for creating amazing food.
Thorough understanding of food safety regulations and inventory management.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with the rest of the team.

We produce daily and weekly specials utilising fresh and seasonal produce, bringing our take on Modern Australian cuisine, with a heavy focus on Mediterranean-style share plates.
