About the role

Regional Plastic Surgery is seeking an experienced Medical Receptionist to provide administrative support for a specialist Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery practice. The practice comprises four Specialist Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons and operates predominantly through a telehealth model, with multiple operating lists each month supported by a proportionate volume of pre-operative, post-operative and other clinical consultations. This is a full time, work-from-home position (5 days per week). The successful applicant will have primary responsibility for the day-to-day administration of the practice and will need to be comfortable working independently.

Key responsibilities
Managing patient enquiries, appointments and telehealth consultations
Coordinating surgical bookings across multiple operating lists each month
Liaising with patients, surgeons, hospitals, anaesthetists and other healthcare providers
Managing referrals, correspondence and clinical documentation
Preparing surgical quotations and assisting patients with administrative aspects of their planned procedures




Managing practice emails, telephone enquiries and administrative tasks
Maintaining accurate patient records and ensuring administrative tasks are followed through to completion
Supporting the surgeons with the productive coordination of their private clinical practice

About you
Have recent experience in an administrative role within a doctor's private practice
Be highly organised, reliable and able to manage competing priorities
Be motivated and responsible, with excellent attention to detail
Be confident working independently and taking responsibility for the completion of tasks
Have excellent written and verbal communication skills
Be comfortable communicating with patients undergoing surgical treatment
Have experience with ECLIPSE and claiming with Medicare, Health funds and DVA
Be an Australian citizen
Experience with Xestro practice management software would be an advantage but is not essential
