About the business and the role
Our client is looking for a payroll specialist with proven experience in working across different awards and delivering within on a temporary basis
Job tasks and responsibilities
Reporting to the Payroll Manager, you will be responsible for assisting with the following:
End of Financial Year
Interpretation and explanation of all reportable and non-reportable payment summary figures
Awareness and understanding of organisational taxation status and its implications.
Awareness and understanding of superannuation maximum contribution base and concessional contributions caps.
Assistance in regard to calculating and processing backpays and overpayments, including overarching coordination of relevant stakeholders.
Ensure processes facilitate the integrity of the Payroll System,
Personnel Information and related data is maintained against relevant source documentation.
Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, regulatory and statutory requirements and the company policies and procedures related to payroll production, including conducting audits as required.
Reviewing and testing systems upon application of recent legislation, as well as payroll software upgrades.
Review and analyse payroll processes and procedures
Contribute to process improvement
Skills & Experience
Proven experience in working across different awards
understanding of termination/redundancy payment calculations
Comprehensive understanding of awards
The ability to solve problems
Excellent communication skills
Advanced excel skills essential
