Job Summary

Lefkas Taverna is looking for an experienced grill cook. To be considered for this position you need to:
take direction from the Head Chef
multitask
be comfortable giving and receiving direction
work clean and methodically
punctual
Teamwork and communication are two key ingredients in working at Lefkas Taverna. You will need to be able to work as a team to create a excellent dining experience for customers. You are confident in your abilities and adapt well to the fast pace environment in the kitchen. You are able to demonstrate strong skills working in a small dedicated team. Your organisation skills are of a high calibre with the ability to perform administrative tasks such as stock control among other things. You should be able to demonstrate your excellent knife skills in a trial interview. This position is permanent part-time position over 4 days/nights per week (approx 30+hours)

Responsibilities and Duties
assembling dishes




oversee food preparation
read orders, understand instructions from the head chef, and talk to kitchen and wait staff to make sure the food is delivered at a photo level, hot and delicious.
ensure excellent preparation
monitor stock and place orders when there are shortages

Qualifications and Skills
knowledge of customer service
knowledge of WHS
effective communicator
knowledge of food allergies
hand-eye coordination: excellent knife skills,
stamina
proven experience as cook
experience in using cutting tools, cookware and bakeware
knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods (grilling, baking, boiling etc.)
ability to follow all sanitation procedures
ability to work in a team
excellent communication skills
excellent physical condition and stamina
Certificate III in Commercial Cookery
minimum 5 years experience

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: $75,000.00 – $80,000.00 per year

Expected hours: 37.0 – 38.0 per week
