The Structural Steel Rigger will work as part of our site-based construction team and will be responsible for rigging, lifting, positioning and assisting with the erection and installation of structural steel components across a range of construction projects.
The successful applicant must be experienced in structural steel erection and rigging and be able to work safely and effectively within a construction workplace.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Rigging, lifting, positioning and securing structural steel components;
Erecting and installing structural steel frameworks, beams, columns and associated components;
Preparing loads and attaching lifting equipment for crane operations;
Assisting crane operators during lifting and positioning operations;
Undertaking dogging and rigging activities in accordance with approved procedures;
Selecting and inspecting appropriate lifting equipment, slings,
chains and rigging gear;
Reading and interpreting construction drawings, plans and lift procedures;
Guiding and controlling suspended loads;
Installing temporary bracing and supporting structures during erection;
Working at heights and operating elevated work platforms where required;
Inspecting rigging equipment and identifying damaged or unsafe equipment;
Following site-specific Protected Work Method Statements and lifting procedures;
Maintaining compliance with workplace health and safety requirements; and
Working collaboratively with crane operators, steel erectors, supervisors and other site personnel
Pay: $39.00 – $46.00 per hour
Expected hours: 38.0 per week
