PHYRE Wood Oven Pizza & Grill is a restaurant in Two Wells serving wood-oven pizzas, pasta, grilled meats and seafood. Our menu brings together Italian and Mediterranean influences with selected Australian native ingredients.

About the role

You will take an active cooking and supervisory role, helping the kitchen team deliver consistent food quality and timely service.

Key responsibilities
Prepare and cook dishes across the restaurant menu, including pasta, grilled meats, seafood and wood-oven pizzas.
Coordinate preparation and service across kitchen sections, checking flavour, portion sizes, presentation and cooking standards.
Support the Head Chef with menu planning, seasonal specials, recipe development and food and labour cost estimates.
Assist with ordering, inspect deliveries and manage stock rotation, storage and food waste.
Supervise and train kitchen team members, demonstrate cooking techniques and provide practical guidance during service.
Assist with allocating kitchen duties and planning preparation requirements.
Lead kitchen service in the Head Chef's absence.
Maintain food safety,



personal hygiene and cleaning procedures, including temperature control and allergen management.
Communicate with front-of-house staff about service timing, menu availability and dietary requirements.
Monitor equipment condition and report maintenance or safety concerns.

About you
A relevant commercial cookery or culinary qualification, or equivalent relevant skilled experience.
At least two years of relevant experience in a commercial restaurant kitchen, including demonstrated responsibility for a kitchen section or team.
Strong cooking skills across a varied restaurant menu.
Sound knowledge of food safety, secure food storage and allergen controls.
Experience with portion control, stock management and reducing food waste.
Transparent communication, organisation and team leadership skills.
Availability to work a roster that includes evenings, weekends and public holidays.
Experience with wood-oven pizza, Italian or Mediterranean cooking is desirable.
