In this role you will be responsible for coordinating prison capacity and transfer processes, inclusive of case managing prisoners who are found to be difficult to place across the state, coordinating the demand for prisoner beds, the intake of prisoners from the watch houses, and leading interstate, international transfers and specialised transfer and escort processes including the management of prisoner escorts for Mental Health custody and the assessment and evaluation of transfer applications in accordance with relevant legislation.
Requirements The most suitable applicant will demonstrate their applied knowledge, skills and experiences against these essential role requirements of the Individual Contributor leadership stream:
Knowledge of contemporary correctional practices
Understanding of Queensland Corrective Services at a strategic and political level
Experience in preparing high quality reports, briefings, policy papers and submissions
Exposure to operating in an executive workplace
Experience in undertaking research and application of outcomes to better practice
Relationship management
Demonstrated workplace and emotional resilience
Knowledge, interpretation and application of legislation, policies and procedures
Ability to motivate and encourage self and others to meet the challenges of demanding work roles
Conceptual, analytical and problem-solving skills
Experience working with sensitive or classified information.
