Role Description The Senior Diagnostic Structural Engineer will lead the investigation and assessment of existing structures, diagnosing performance issues, potential failures, and underlying causes. Day-to-day responsibilities include reviewing drawings and specifications, performing advanced structural analyses and calculations, and preparing detailed technical reports and recommendations.
The role involves collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, guiding junior engineers,
and interfacing with clients to present findings and proposed remedial solutions.
The Senior Diagnostic Structural
Engineer will also contribute to method development, quality standards, and best practices for forensic and diagnostic projects. This is a full time remote role.
Qualifications
Robust foundation in Structural Engineering and Civil Engineering, with experience in diagnostic or forensic investigations.
Proficiency in Calculations and Structural Analysis for a range of materials and structural systems.
Ability to use Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools for reviewing, interpreting, and producing structural drawings.
Experience preparing clear technical reports, assessments, and remedial design documentation.
Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering; advanced degree or skilled licensure (PE/SE) is highly beneficial.
Familiarity with relevant building codes, standards, and industry guidelines.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and diagnostic skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
Effective written and verbal communication skills, and ability to work independently in a remote setting as well as within distributed teams.
