The Geraldton Regional Aboriginal Medical Service (GRAMS) is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Registered Midwife to join our Family Health Unit.
This rewarding role supports Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women, babies and families by delivering a culturally secure midwifery and maternal health services across Geraldton and surrounding communities.
Key Responsibilities
As a Registered Midwife, you will:
Provide culturally safe antenatal, postnatal and maternal health care services.
Conduct comprehensive health assessments and develop individual care plans.
Coordinate maternal and child health clinics and deliver preventative health programs.
Provide health education and support to women, babies and families.
Work collaboratively with GP's nurses, Aboriginal Health Practitioners and other health professionals.
Maintain accurate clinical documentation in Communicare and ensure professional standards are met.
Participate in quality improvement activities and ongoing professional development.
What we're looking for
Current AHPRA Registration as a Registered Midwife.
Experience in community-based primary maternal and child health care.
Experience working with pregnant women, newborns and infants.
Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Current C Class Drivers Licence.
Current Working with Children Check (or ability to obtain).
National Police Clearance (or ability to obtain).
Knowledge of Aboriginal culture and a commitment to providing culturally safe healthcare.
