About the Role
As a Prostate Cancer Telenurse you'll be part of Australia's first dedicated Telenursing service for prostate cancer. You'll provide specialist nursing support, care, and advice to thousands of people affected by prostate cancer, no matter where they live in Australia.
This role is a fixed term part time maternity leave cover contract for 10 months.
Hours are minimum of 4 days to a maximum of 5 days per fortnight.
Location is hybrid, ideally based in Melbourne, Sydney, or Brisbane.
What you'll do as a Telenurse:
Act as a resource for health professionals and community organisations.
Offer practical and emotional support to individuals affected by prostate cancer.
Deliver comprehensive, evidence-based information and education via phone and electronic communications.
Guide patients to appropriate internal and external support programs.
Contribute to educational programs and staff development.
Participate in quality improvement activities and research programs.
Maintain skilled standards in nursing and cancer care.

What you'll need:
Registered Nurse (Division 1-General) with AHPRA registration.
Minimum of 5 years post-graduation experience.
At least 3 years' experience working with prostate cancer patients.
Advanced knowledge in urology or oncology nursing and supportive care.
Demonstrated expertise in either urology nursing or oncology nursing is required.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and active listening skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Proficient in MS Office, internet, email, and databases.
