A good dishie job is hard to find: reliable hours, no split shifts, free staff meals, and a kitchen team that actually likes working together. That’s what we’re offering
At Spirit House, we run around 80 covers a shift — busy enough to keep things moving, but not the kind of chaos where you emerge from the wash up area drenched and demoralised.
We’re looking for a reliable kitchenhand/dishie to join our team. The role is mostly dishwashing, keeping the kitchen flowing, and helping out with basic prep when needed.
It’s straightforward work, but you’ll be part of a genuinely good crew in one of the Sunshine Coast’s best-known kitchens.
What’s good about this job?
Flexible schedule
Consistent shifts — we’re always busy, so hours are reliable
No split shifts
Free onsite parking
Staff meals and drinks included
Fun, supportive team
20–30 hours per week
Casual or permanent part-time — whatever suits
And if you’re interested in cooking,
there’s genuine opportunity for the right person to move into an apprenticeship chef role down the track.
The dish area is where plenty of chefs got their start — learning pace, teamwork, and how a real kitchen runs before stepping onto the pans
You’ll probably suit this if you:
Work hard without needing a motivational TED Talk every 14 minutes
Can stay organised and keep moving during service
Don’t mind getting wet occasionally
Are reliable and easy to work with - you will need a car to get here.
Want to be part of a valuable kitchen team
Experience is great, but attitude matters more.
We’re a pretty mixed crew and like it that way. You don’t need to fit a ‘type’ to work here.
We care a lot more about attitude than background. If you show up, work hard, and treat people well, you’ll do outstanding here.
If you’re looking for steady hours, a good crew, and a kitchen job that doesn’t feel like warfare, we’d love to hear from you.
