About the role

Steve's Liquor Launceston is looking for friendly and reliable Retail Assistants to join our team. You'll play a vital role in creating a welcoming and enjoyable shopping experience for every customer who walks through our doors. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys customer service and thrives in a rapid-paced retail setting.

You'll be passionate about building rapport, sharing product knowledge, and helping customers discover something new, whether it's a Tamar Valley wine, a local craft beer, or a premium Tasmanian whisky or gin. The position requires some flexibility around working hours and the ability to work weekends when required.

Key responsibilities
Greeting customers warmly, answering product-related questions, and offering tailored recommendations based on their preferences




Operating the point-of-sale system efficiently, handling cash and card payments, and ensuring accurate transactions
Receiving deliveries, unpacking stock, and replenishing shelves
Keeping the store clean, organised, and visually appealing
Ensuring all sales are conducted in accordance with Tasmanian Responsible Service of Alcohol requirements

About you
A valid Tasmanian-approved RSA certificate
Previous retail, hospitality or customer service experience (ideal)
Solid customer service and communication skills
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and public holidays
A team-player attitude that contributes to a friendly working workplace
