Zucchero Nero is looking for a Barista / Shop Assistant to join our team!

We’re a busy Italian bakery & café serving artisan cakes, pastries, bread, pizza, coffee and plenty of Italian attitude.

We’re looking for someone who is friendly, reliable, energetic and loves working with people.

THE ROLE

This is a hands-on role involving both barista work and front-of-house/shop duties. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

Preparing high-quality coffee and other drinks

Taking customer orders and processing payments

Providing friendly, fast and qualified customer service

Serving cakes, pastries, bread and other products

Preparing and serving takeaway food

Restocking displays, fridges and retail areas

Keeping the shop, coffee station and customer areas clean and organised

Assisting with opening and closing duties

Packaging cakes, pastries and customer orders

Assisting with catering and larger orders





Working efficiently during busy periods

Following food safety and hygiene procedures

Helping wherever needed to keep the shop running smoothly

WE'RE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WHO:

Has barista experience and knows how to make quality coffee

Has café, bakery or hospitality experience

Is confident and friendly with customers

Works well under pressure

Is reliable, punctual and well presented

Has a valuable eye for detail and cleanliness

Can work independently and as part of a small team

Is comfortable multitasking in a busy environment

Has a positive attitude and isn't afraid to get stuck in

Has a genuine interest in food, coffee and hospitality

Italian language skills are a bonus, but definitely not essential.

Pay: From $26.50 per hour
