About the role
The Trust Accountant is responsible for managing the day-to-day accounting, reporting and compliance activities across asset entities and funds. This role supports the delivery of accurate financial information, trust account administration, taxation compliance and property reporting while working closely with Property Managers, Asset Managers and the broader Finance team.
Reporting to the Property Accountant, you will play an important role in maintaining financial integrity, supporting asset performance and ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements across property portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
Manage property accounting transactions including tenant invoicing, receipting, expenses, outgoings reconciliations and capital expenditure processing.
Complete monthly trust and property accounting processes and assist with financial reporting and year-end requirements.
Reconcile and administer trust accounts in accordance with regulatory and compliance requirements.
Support taxation compliance, audits, budgets and cash flow management across stabilised asset entities.
Support reporting to Property Managers and Asset Managers.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, accounting policies and finance system enhancements.
About you
You are a detail-oriented accounting skilled with solid technical skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving. You enjoy working collaboratively with stakeholders and take pride in delivering accurate, timely and high-quality financial outcomes.
With experience in property or trust accounting, you bring sound judgement, strong organisational skills and a commitment to maintaining high standards of compliance, accountability and customer service.
Skills and Experience
Minimum 3 years' experience in a property, trust or similar accounting role.
Sound understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting and trust account administration.
Solid attention to detail, organisational skills and proficiency in financial systems and Microsoft Excel.
Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline, and property industry experience will be highly regarded.
