Senior Desktop Support Engineer : Financial Services

The opportunity

We're looking for an experienced Senior Desktop Support Engineer to join a large financial services client in Sydney. You'll be the go-to person onsite for end-user support, guiding a small team of junior engineers and taking on infrastructure project work as it arises.

This is a contract of up to 12 months on a salary package of $100,000. The client is keen to start as soon as possible.

What you'll be doing
Supporting end-user devices (PC and mobile), office devices (printers, AV equipment) and peripherals
Supporting Microsoft Windows and the Office suite
Acting as an escalation point for complex issues and providing guidance to junior engineers
Working within incident, change and configuration management processes
Identifying systemic issues, improvement prospects and risks, and raising them with management




Supporting infrastructure projects alongside end-user support

What you'll bring
5+ years of related experience
Diploma or equivalent in IT or a related field
Solid experience in an ITIL-driven environment, with robust knowledge of incident, change and configuration management
A good understanding of network and infrastructure technologies (servers, storage, switches, routers, patching), with the ability to support as guided by specialists
Experience supervising or mentoring a small team of junior engineers
Robust analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
A strong customer service focus and excellent verbal and written English
A self-directed approach, able to prioritise your own work and communicate clearly with internal customers
Experience in a collaborative, large-scale multinational environment (preferred)
