Connect Housing Group is a not for profit organisation established in 2009 to provide a range of affordable and social housing options to people on low to moderate incomes.
The Property Manager will be responsible for supporting tenancy and property management services for Connect Housing Group's properties in South East Qld. This role also assists withthe ongoing development of the systems required for quality service delivery in these areas, and forproperty repairs and maintenance.
About the role
This role involves managing tenancies according to the Residential Tenancy Act 1997, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and regulations, and delivering quality service to prospective and current residents. You will oversee maintenance services, manage contractor relationships, and ensure tenant satisfaction while maintaining accurate records and reporting.
Key responsibilities
Manage tenancies according to the Residential Tenancy Act 1997
Ensure Connect Housing Group complies with relevant legislation, regulations, building codes and other frameworks
Prepare and maintain 10 year asset management plan
Annually set and monitor maintenance expenditure budgets, reviewing and managing planned and responsive maintenance
Manage,
respond to and resolve tenant maintenance requests according to Connect Housing Group policies and procedures
Oversee the management of tenders for maintenance work
Manage contractors
Provide timely and accurate information and reports to Connect Housing Group Board, property owners and other stakeholders
Prepare for and represent Connect Housing Group at QCAT hearings
Develop, maintain and collaborate with appropriate service providers and external organisations
About you
Experience working with RTA and QCAT
Knowledge, understanding and empathy of the behaviours of people who are undergoing significant personal stress associated with financial stress, housing stress, mental illness and trauma
Organisation skills with the ability to work unsupervised
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Well-developed interpersonal and negotiation skills including demonstrated conflict management skills
Ability to work effectively in a multiskilled team setting to deliver quality service orientated outcomes
Ability to work with people who have physical or mental health disabilities, drug and alcohol issues and people who may display verbal or physically challenging behaviours
