One Health Clinics is a growing healthcare organisation providing general practice and alternative therapy services across Queensland. Our Cairns clinic has the capacity to support a doctor interested in relocating and providing face-to-face consultations.

We also welcome applications from experienced doctors seeking a fully remote telehealth position.

About the Role

We are seeking a qualified Medicinal Cannabis Authorised Prescriber to join our supportive and experienced clinical team. The successful applicant will have a strong understanding of medicinal cannabis treatments, the relevant prescribing requirements and a genuine commitment to providing safe, evidence-based and patient-centred care.

This position can be performed remotely via telehealth. Alternatively, we can offer face-to-face consulting opportunities at our established Cairns clinic for a doctor interested in relocating.

Key Responsibilities

- Assess patients to determine their suitability for medicinal cannabis treatment based on their medical history, symptoms and clinical needs
- Develop appropriate, individualised treatment plans for eligible patients
- Prescribe medicinal cannabis in accordance with current clinical and regulatory requirements
- Review patients and renew prescriptions when clinically appropriate




- Educate patients about the potential benefits, risks and safe use of medicinal cannabis
- Work collaboratively with our nursing, clinical and administrative teams
- Maintain compliance with all relevant legal, professional and regulatory obligations

Requirements

- Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- Current Authorised Prescriber letters (Or willingness to obtain)
- Sound knowledge of medicinal cannabis treatments and relevant clinical indications
- Strong understanding of the Australian regulatory framework for medicinal cannabis

- Confident using clinical software and telehealth technology
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a multidisciplinary team
- Commitment to safe, compliant and evidence-based prescribing
