The business
This is a Victorian land development consultancy with more than four decades behind it. It covers civil engineering, surveying and estate planning, from early site analysis through to construction. Its projects range from small to very large, all across Victoria. It isn't a churn-and-burn shop. It invests in its people and plans to keep growing its expertise. Long service leave is norm here.

The role
You'll lead and grow the firm's water resources, hydrology, flood modelling and stormwater capability. You'll set the technical standard, own quality control, and mentor the designers coming up behind you. You won't be one modeller in a queue. You'll be the person others come to when the catchment gets complicated.

What you'll be doing (you've done this all before)

- Preparing and managing designs for wetlands, retarding basins, waterways, culverts, WSUD assets and trunk drainage




- Building hydrologic and flood models in RORB, TUFLOW, HEC-RAS or similar
- Producing design plans, specifications and construction documentation
- Giving technical advice to project managers and construction teams
- Working with clients, contractors and stakeholders
- Finding better ways of working and contributing to quality and risk management
- Staying across new design practice and thinking
- Leading by example on safety

What you'll bring

- 8+ years in Victorian consulting on stormwater projects
- A degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent
- Flood modelling experience in TUFLOW, HEC-RAS, RORB, DRAINS or similar
- An eye for detail and pride in your work
- The ability to keep several projects moving at once
- Initiative, energy, and a habit of improving things without being asked
