At Jackson McDonald, you will work alongside experienced practitioners on a broad range of insurance and risk matters, gaining hands-on experience from the outset of your career. What You Will Be Involved In

Working closely with our partners Fiona Dempster, Erica Thuijs and Alex Lustig, you will work across a broad range of tort-based matters including workers compensation, public liability and motor vehicle claims acting on behalf of the defendant. You may also work on advisory and litigation matters, with opportunities to assist with work from early advice through to resolution.

You will work closely with partners and experienced lawyers in a cooperative team environment, benefiting from mentoring, regular guidance and direct access to senior practitioners as you develop your skills and confidence.

What We Are Looking For

You will have a genuine desire to learn, develop your technical skills and build trusted client relationships in a supportive team. You may already have insurance law experience or you are equipped with skills learnt whilst completing your Practical Legal Training. What matters most is your genuine interest in insurance and motivation to build a career in the area.

Our ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate the following:

- Up to two years post-admission experience;
- High legal standards, with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Strong organisational skills with the ability and commitment to meet deadlines and manage competing priorities;




- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite with the ability to learn new systems;
- Curiosity, initiative and a strong work ethic; and
- A collaborative attitude and willingness to contribute positively to a close team.
