Disability Support Worker – SIL

CSBS is seeking compassionate, reliable, and experienced Disability Support Workers to join our team supporting people living with disability in a Supported Independent Living (SIL) home in Baringa.

This home is shared by two people living with Cerebral Palsy, with one person also experiencing Epilepsy. We are looking for support workers who are confident providing personal support, assisting with daily living activities, and working alongside established support plans to promote independence, choice, and wellbeing.

About the Role

Location: Baringa Employment Type: Casual or Permanent Part-Time

As part of this SIL team, you’ll provide day-to-day supports that help people maintain their independence within their home and community.

Duties May Include

- Personal support and assistance with daily living activities
- Mobility and transfer support
- Following individual support plans and health management procedures
- Medication assistance in line with training and requirements
- Support for a person living with Epilepsy, including monitoring wellbeing and responding in accordance with seizure management plans
- Household tasks including cleaning, laundry, and maintaining shared living spaces
- Meal planning, preparation, and mealtime support
- Community access and social participation
- Transport to appointments and community activities
- Supporting people to pursue their personal goals, interests, and routines

Shift Availability





We are seeking support workers who can work a variety of shifts, including:

- Morning
- Afternoon
- Sleepover
- Active nights

Flexibility across multiple shift types will be highly regarded.

What We’re Looking For

To be successful in this role, you will have:

- Experience supporting people living with disability
- Confidence providing personal support and mobility assistance
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- The ability to follow support plans and documentation requirements
- A calm, professional, and person-centred approach
- A commitment to promoting choice, dignity, and independence
- Experience working within a SIL workplace or similar support setting (highly regarded)

Highly Desirable

- Experience supporting people living with Cerebral Palsy
- Experience supporting people who experience Epilepsy
- Knowledge of seizure management practices
- Experience with manual handling and mobility equipment
- Experience supporting people with complex physical support requirements

What You’ll Need

- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Current Queensland Driver Licence
- Reliable motor vehicle with comprehensive insurance
- Current First Aid and CPR Certificates
- Flexibility to work a rotating roster, including active overnight shifts
- A genuine commitment to providing professional, human-centred support
