What you’ll be doing

Shape the data platform behind better decisions at CHL. As our Data Engineer, Power BI & Microsoft Fabric, you’ll design, build and govern secure, scalable data and reporting solutions across Microsoft Fabric and Power BI. Reporting to the Head of Data & Reporting, you’ll lead work across data architecture, engineering, integration, platform administration and analytics, supporting operational, financial, regulatory and strategic outcomes.

You’ll collaborate with business teams, IT Operations, Enterprise Applications, Portfolio and Change, the AI Specialist and external vendors to turn complex needs into practical, modern data solutions. You’ll make your mark by:

- Build the foundation: Design and evolve CHL’s enterprise data warehouse, Microsoft Fabric platform and data architecture, creating effective ETL processes and high-performing reporting solutions.

- Turn data into insight: Develop and optimise Power BI datasets, semantic models, dashboards and reports that help teams make informed decisions.

- Keep data trusted: Manage integrations, transformations and quality controls to deliver accurate, reliable reporting.

- Run a high-performing platform: Administer Microsoft Fabric and Power BI security, access, capacity and performance.

- Set the standard: Strengthen data governance, documentation and technical standards that build consistency and confidence in CHL’s data.

- Partner for impact: Work with stakeholders to understand their needs and deliver practical data solutions aligned with CHL’s goals.

What we’re looking for





We’re looking for an experienced data professional who combines strong technical capability with analytical thinking, sound judgement and effective stakeholder management. You’ll be confident working across data architecture, engineering, integration and analytics, and able to translate business requirements into secure, scalable and well-governed solutions.

To succeed, you’ll bring hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric and Power BI, together with strong SQL, data modelling and data warehousing skills. You’ll have experience developing data pipelines and system integrations, and a sound understanding of data governance, security and reporting best practice. Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills will enable you to work effectively with both technical and business stakeholders. Microsoft Fabric, Azure or Power BI certifications are highly regarded, as is experience with Dynamics 365, Business Central or Power Platform, and exposure to a complex or community services environment.
