We are seeking an empathetic, resilient, and dynamic individual to join our team, as a Full time, Recruitment Officer. The position will be Full-Time. You will work in our office is located in Islington, New South Wales.
As a Rostering & Recruitment Officer at Sunflower Services, your responsibilities include:
- Manage end-to-end recruitment for Mental Health and Disability Support Workers, from sourcing and screening candidates through to offer and onboarding
- Lead group recruitment interviews, creating a warm, engaging and consistent experience while assessing candidates against Sunflower’s values and role requirements.
- Screen and shortlist applications, assessing candidate experience, qualifications, availability and suitability for current vacancies and participant needs.
- Coordinate onboarding, including contracts, training schedules, documentation, employee ID cards and Support Worker profiles.
- Support and coordinate in-person induction sessions, ensuring new Support Workers are prepared and supported as they commence with Sunflower Services.
- Support the rostering of newly onboarded Support Workers, helping employees understand available shifts, navigate ShiftCare and secure suitable work following induction.
- Assist with ongoing roster management,
including identifying suitable Support Workers for available shifts, responding to workforce changes and supporting coverage where required.
- Assist with identifying and addressing roster gaps, matching available Support Workers to participant requirements while considering availability, skills, experience and suitability.
- Support workforce engagement and retention, including identifying inactive Support Workers, following up on availability and assisting to improve workforce participation.
- Maintain accurate recruitment and rostering records, ensuring employee information, availability, compliance and workforce data remains up to date.
- Contribute to continuous improvement across recruitment, onboarding and rostering processes, identifying opportunities to improve the employee and participant experience.
- Participate in workforce projects and initiatives, including the Two-Week Readiness Program and other initiatives designed to strengthen recruitment, onboarding, rostering and retention.
- Provide insights into recruitment and workforce trends, including recruitment activity, workforce gaps, roster coverage and employee engagement to support informed decision-making.
- Work under the clear direction and guidance of the Senior Recruitment Officer & Rostering Team Lead.
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- Education in Business Administration, Human Resources, Community Services, mental health, or a related field desirable.
- Experience in recruitment, rostering,
administration or support work within the NDIS or community services sector is highly desirable.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport, maintain boundaries, and communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a professional phone manner.
- Exceptional organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Empathy, compassion, and a non-judgmental attitude, especially when working with vulnerable populations.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and independently when required.
- Attention to detail in documentation, record-keeping, and administrative tasks.
- Ethical and culturally sensitive approach to client and staff interactions.
