An opportunity exists for a Cyber Security Analyst to join the team on a 12-month fixed term contract.
The Role
As a Security Analyst, you will play a key role in protecting the organisation’s systems, data, and operations from cyber threats. You will monitor and investigate security events, respond to security incidents, and support the ongoing operation and improvement of security tools and controls. Working closely with stakeholders across the business, you will identify vulnerabilities, provide remediation advice, and help ensure compliance with security standards and best practices. This role is critical to maintaining a secure, resilient, and compliant technology environment.
Responsibilities include:
- Perform reoccurring tasks and checks to ensure Data Actions compliance requirements are met.
- Monitor and respond to security events and incidents (Level 1 and Level 2 SOC activities).
- Raise security incidents to relevant teams.
- Assist with SIEM detection creation and tuning.
- Vulnerability Management.
- Assist with audit evidence gathering and presentation of evidence.
- Contribute to the assessment and continuous improving of DA’s Cyber Security maturity.
- Maintain and operate security tools within the DA environment.
- Proactive research and understanding of Cyber Security threats and potential impacts.
- Assist with development and continuous improvement of capabilities and processes that enable DA to effectively detect, respond and recover from Cyber Security incidents.
- Contributing to an ongoing Security Awareness program that ensures staff understand Cyber Security risks and understand their part in mitigating them
- Proactively understanding the regulatory and compliance landscape affecting Cyber Security including the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS), ASAE 3402 SOC1 Type II audit, ASAE3150 audit, APRA CPS234.
About you:
You are a passionate cyber security professional with at least two years’ experience in a security, technology, or a related role with a strong understanding of complex technology environments. You bring practical expertise across multiple cyber security domains, such as security operations, security and risk management, identity and access management, security architecture, security testing, network security, or software development security. You take a proactive approach in identifying and mitigating security risks, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and a passion for continuously improving security outcomes. Experience using emerging technologies, including AI for cyber defence, will be highly regarded. Previous experience in financial services, managed services, or a Security Operations Centre (SOC) setting would be advantageous.
