The Role
Under the guidance of the System Support Lead, the System Support Coordinator – Pathways & Classification will manage a small portfolio of National Sporting Organisations (NSOs). The Coordinator will work collaboratively across this portfolio to connect and align pathway opportunities, address barriers to athlete entry and progression through the Paralympic pathway and provide administrative support for the delivery of sport-specific classification programs. Strong administration, attention to detail, communication and follow-through will be central to ensuring pathway and classification activities run smoothly across PA.
This is a fixed-term contract role until 30 June 2028 and can be based from our Melbourne, Sydney or Brisbane office. It will require occasional interstate travel and weekend work.
The Person
You are a process-driven coordinator who combines strong administration with a collaborative and practical approach. You enjoy working across a portfolio of stakeholders to connect and align pathway opportunities, coordinate information and help activities move smoothly from start to finish. You are organised, accurate and comfortable following up with your NSOs and other stakeholders to gather information, prepare documentation and keep records up to date.
You bring strong attention to detail, sound communication and dependable follow-through. You handle sensitive information with discretion, follow established processes and confidently ask questions or escalate complex matters when further input is needed. You are self-motivated, willing to learn and able to contribute positively in a rapid-paced team environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide guidance and administrative support for NSO Classification programs to assist with alignment to the IPC Classification Code and national best practice procedures.
- Support NSOs to implement Classification Policy, procedures and system standards across their programs.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date data within the National Classification Masterlist and associated systems, and coordinate reporting requirements for NSO Classification data.
- Respond to and coordinate general classification enquiries, maintain accurate records, and escalate complex matters as required.
- Provide administrative support for classification-related matters across NSO High Performance programs.
- Coordinate administration and logistics for provisional, national and locally-hosted international classification opportunities, as well as classifier training and accreditation.
- Identify and problem solve challenges to address barriers to progression for categorised athletes within the NSO performance pathways.
- Coordinate pathway engagement and provide delivery support to portfolio NSOs, through the provision of Para sport advice to individuals and organisations to support performance outcomes.
Key Competencies
- Strong administrative and communication skills.

- Experience coordinating information amongst multiple stakeholder groups.
- Experience working with sensitive and confidential informational data sets.
- Experience creating and developing resources and materials to support people processes.
- Interest in the Australian Sport system, Para sport, Classification or other aligned processes is beneficial.
- Represents the organisation’s values and contributes to a positive workplace culture.
Education and Training
- Qualifications in sport management, sport science, and/or sport coaching is preferable although not essential.
