We are looking for a compassionate, reliable and patient Disability Support Worker to provide high-quality, person-centred support to a client living in Glebe, NSW.
This role is particularly suited to someone with experience supporting people with intellectual disabilities, who can provide practical assistance while encouraging independence, confidence and participation in everyday activities.

About the Role
As a Disability Support Worker, you will provide respectful and consistent support tailored to the client’s individual needs, preferences and support plan.
Your responsibilities may include:
- Supporting a client living with an intellectual disability
- Providing Domestic Assistance (DA) and support with household tasks
- Assisting with cleaning, tidying and maintaining a safe and comfortable home environment
- Supporting community participation and access to community activities
- Encouraging social engagement and meaningful activities
- Assisting with meal preparation and simple cooking
- Supporting daily routines and developing independence in everyday activities
- Providing prompts and encouragement with daily living tasks where required
- Following individual support plans, risk assessments and care instructions
- Supporting the client’s choice, independence and participation in the community
- Observing and reporting changes in the client’s wellbeing or support needs
- Maintaining accurate and timely documentation
- Building a positive and trusting relationship through calm,
consistent and respectful support
- Maintaining professional boundaries and confidentiality at all times
About You
You are a compassionate and dependable Support Worker who:
- Is calm, patient and observant
- Has experience supporting people with intellectual disabilities
- Is confident assisting with household and daily living tasks
- Enjoys supporting clients to participate in their local community
- Is comfortable with meal preparation and basic cooking
- Has strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Can follow care plans, routines and instructions accurately
- Demonstrates professional boundaries
- Is comfortable working independently in a client’s home
- Is reliable and committed to providing consistent support
- Respects individual choice, privacy, dignity and independence
- Has a genuine passion for making a positive difference in someone’s everyday life
- Can speak Vietnamese – highly desirable
Essential Requirements
To be considered for this position, you must have:
- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Working With Children Check (WWCC)
- Valid Australian Driver’s Licence
- Own reliable vehicle – where required for the service
- First Aid and CPR Certificate
- Certificate III or IV in Disability, Individual Support, Aged Care or a relevant qualification
- Previous experience in disability support, aged care or a similar care workplace
- Ability to work in accordance with individual support plans and safety procedures
- Australian working rights
