School-Based Timber Mill Production Traineeship - 2027

GTE, in conjunction with our GTFIH (Green Triangle Forestry Industry Hub) partners, is excited to offer an excellent opportunity in 2027: a 12 month school-based Timber Mill Production Operator Traineeship. This paid program allows up to 8 candidates to undertake a Certificate II in Timber and Wood Products Operations through the local training organisation LITA, while continuing their SACE studies and beginning their career in local timber products manufacturing facilities.

This 12-month traineeship is an outstanding pathway for those looking to start their career in the timber industry, providing hands‑on experience across various aspects of timber production at above award wages. Opportunity for full‑time employment as a production operator upon successful completion of this state training award finalist traineeship program.

About the Role:

You’ll get the opportunity to learn cutting‑edge manufacturing equipment, while supporting various production roles. Safety is our priority,



so you’ll gain understanding in best practice workplace standards and perform quality checks to ensure excellence in our products!

What We’re Looking For:

- A robust commitment to safety in the workplace
- Ability to work for extended periods while performing manufacturing tasks
- A team player with good communication skills
- Eagerness to learn and follow processes and procedures
- Willing to complete a full medical assessment, including drug and alcohol screening
- Eager to enter the strong, local timber industry workforce
- Hands‑on experience in world‑class timber manufacturing facilities
- Gain a nationally recognised qualification – Certificate II in Timber and Wood Products Operations
- Receive comprehensive on‑the‑job training with clear career pathways
