Apprenticeships Are Us is seeking motivated 2nd, 3rd and 4th Year Light Vehicle Mechanic Apprentices for opportunities with established automotive businesses in Penrith, NSW .
With opportunities available within major automotive dealership environments, this is a great chance to continue your apprenticeship, build on your existing experience and develop your skills alongside qualified automotive technicians.
You'll continue working towards your AUR30620 Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology , gaining valuable hands-on experience across vehicle servicing, diagnostics, maintenance and mechanical repairs.
Your previous apprenticeship experience and completed training can be recognised, allowing you to continue progressing towards becoming a qualified Light Vehicle Mechanic.

Depending on the placement, you may gain experience across:
- Manufacturer-specific vehicles and servicing procedures.

What You'll Be Doing
Your responsibilities will depend on your apprenticeship year and current experience but may include:
- Carrying out scheduled servicing and general vehicle maintenance.
- Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults.
- Using modern diagnostic equipment and workshop technology.
- Repairing and maintaining braking, steering and suspension systems.
- Assisting with engine repairs and mechanical component replacement.
- Carrying out vehicle inspections, testing and safety checks.
- Reading and following manufacturer specifications and repair procedures.
- Using hand tools, power tools and specialised automotive equipment.
- Continuing to develop your diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
- Maintaining a clean, organised and safe workshop workplace.
As you progress through your apprenticeship,
you'll take on more complex diagnostic and repair work and greater responsibility under the guidance of qualified technicians.
About You
We're looking for apprentices who are genuinely interested in automotive and committed to completing their trade qualification.
You’ll ideally have:
- Current 2nd, 3rd or 4th Year Light Vehicle Mechanical Apprentice status.
- Previous hands-on automotive workshop experience.
- Progress towards your AUR30620 Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology .
- A genuine passion for cars and automotive technology.
- A hands-on and mechanically minded approach.
- A positive attitude and willingness to continue learning.
- A strong work ethic and reliable attitude.
- Good attention to detail.
- The ability to take direction and apply feedback.
- The ability to work effectively as part of a workshop team.
- A current driver's licence (P1 or above preferred) .
- The ability to reliably travel to Penrith, NSW .
