The Infrastructure procurement function supports the delivery of construction and infrastructure projects across the Department, ensuring procurement activities are compliant, commercially sound and deliver value for money.
Role Description:
We are seeking two experienced Senior Procurement Officers with strong construction procurement and GC21 experience to provide specialist procurement advice and manage complex, end-to-end procurement activities supporting infrastructure and construction projects.
The role will work closely with internal stakeholders, project teams and suppliers to plan and deliver procurement activities, with a particular focus on GC21 tenders, tender documentation and contract documentation .
This is a hands‑on procurement role requiring someone who can independently manage procurement processes from strategy through to contract award, provide transparent advice to stakeholders, identify and mitigate risks, and ensure procurement documentation and activities meet appropriate governance and compliance standards.
Responsibilities:
- Provide specialist procurement advice across construction and infrastructure projects
- Lead and manage complex end-to-end construction procurement activities from procurement strategy through to contract award
- Lead GC21 tender processes , including preparation and coordination of tender documentation
- Develop and coordinate sourcing and tendering activities for construction contractors and professional services
- Support procurement planning, market engagement, tender evaluation and recommendation processes
- Work closely with project teams and business stakeholders to understand procurement requirements
- Provide guidance on procurement options, processes, risks and compliance requirements
- Manage communication and engagement with suppliers throughout key procurement stages
- Identify and mitigate procurement risks relating to cost, quality, delivery and compliance
- Consider relevant contract management requirements as part of the procurement process
- Monitor procurement activities, outcomes and key milestones across multiple concurrent procurements
- Prepare and maintain accurate tender and contract documentation and procurement records
- Conduct quality assurance reviews of procurement documentation and processes
- Identify opportunities to improve procurement processes and practices
- Support transparent, compliant and value-for-money procurement outcomes
