About the Role

Reporting to theFood & Beverage Manager, you’ll lead banquet operations during your shifts, overseeing event preparation, service and pack down.

Working closely with Sales, Kitchen and other operational departments, you’ll translate event requirements into clear direction for the team, ensuring our spaces are ready, service runs smoothly and guests receive attentive, professional hospitality.

While banquets will be your primary focus, you’ll also be required to work across the hotel’s Food & Beverage outlets as part of one integrated department.



You’ll support service and lead shifts across our restaurant, bar and other outlets as operational needs require.

This role suits someone who leads confidently from the floor, enjoys variety and works collaboratively to deliver exceptional service across the hotel.

Key Responsibilities

Lead banquet shifts across conferences, meetings, weddings and special events.

Review event orders and communicate timings, service requirements, dietary needs and changes to the team.

Oversee room set-up, presentation, service and pack down, ensuring accuracy and readiness before guests arrive.

Conduct shift briefings, allocate duties and coordinate staffing and breaks to meet service demands.

Work closely with Sales, Kitchen and other departments to deliver events smoothly.

Support service and provide shift leadership across the hotel’s Food & Beverage outlets as required.

Provide hands‑on support throughout service, responding promptly to guest requests and resolving concerns.

Coach team members and support consistent service standards through clear direction and timely feedback.

Assist with rostering and monitor labour use during shifts.

Maintain stock, equipment and event spaces, reporting maintenance requirements promptly.





Complete shift handovers and communicate operational issues and follow-up actions.

Ensure compliance with responsible service of alcohol, food safety, WHS and hotel policies.

About You

You’re a confident hospitality skilled who enjoys leading a team and takes pride in the details that make an event successful.

You’ll bring:

Previous supervisory or duty management experience in banquets, conference and events, or hotel Food & Beverage.

A strong understanding of banquet set‑up, event orders and service delivery.

A willingness to work across banquets and hotel outlets, supporting the wider Food & Beverage team.

The ability to lead, motivate and coach a team during busy shifts.

Strong communication, organisation and attention to detail.

A calm, practical approach to changing priorities and guest concerns.

An understanding of staffing requirements, labour costs and operational efficiency.

A current Queensland RSA certificate.

Flexibility to work a rotating roster, including early mornings, evenings, weekends and public holidays.
