You will take ownership of the day-to-day operation and maintenance of a remote facility treating leachate and industrial wastewater. The plant uses technologies including reverse osmosis (RO), ultrafiltration (UF), dissolved air flotation (DAF) and a screw press. This role suits an operator who is comfortable working independently, solving equipment issues and helping maintain safe, reliable plant performance.
Key responsibilities
- Operate, monitor and maintain the treatment plant, pump stations and associated equipment
- Carry out water sampling, testing and operational reporting
- Complete inspections and preventive maintenance, and respond to equipment faults
- Troubleshoot treatment processes and work with process engineers to improve performance
- Maintain accurate records to support environmental compliance and plant reliability
- Take a lead role in the secure and effective day-to-day running of the site
About you
- Hands-on water or wastewater treatment experience, ideally involving RO or other membrane systems
- Experience with UF, DAF, screw presses, leachate or industrial wastewater
- Sound mechanical or electrical aptitude and a practical approach to troubleshooting
- Ability to work independently at a remote site and communicate clearly with the wider team
- Strong safety awareness and confidence using basic computer and reporting systems
- Current C-class driver's licence and White Card
- Certificate III in Water or Wastewater Treatment Operations preferred
- Remote site experience, manual licence, and First Aid and CPR certification advantageous
- Australian work rights and ability to complete pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol screening
