Compliance Consultant - AML /CTF and Liquor and Gaming

Turn complex compliance obligations into practical solutions for club clients. Barrington Group Australia is seeking an experienced Compliance Consultant that has specialized in AML/CTF but also has knowledge of NSW Liquor and Gaming to develop and maintain compliant programs, provide trusted advice, and support venues to embed effective compliance practices.
About the role
This client-facing role is available on a full-time, part-time or contract basis. Our head office is in Norwest, but we are open to candidates based in other locations who can travel regularly to clubs and other client venues. You will work closely with clients, internal teams, regulators and independent review providers to deliver practical, high-quality AML/CTF programs, Venue Plans of Management (VPOM), Gaming Plans of Management (GPOM') and specialized compliance support.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare and deliver respective compliance programs that comply with legislative and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct site visits to support venue understanding and implementation of AML/CTF / VPOM / GPOM programs.
- Maintain current knowledge of legislation and update client programs accordingly through professional development specifically in ACAMS and Liquor and Gaming.
- Attend industry events for knowledge and networking.
- Liaise with AUSTRAC, Liquor and Gaming NSW and other governing bodies on regulatory requirements.
- Respond to compliance enquiries from clients and internal staff with clear, practical guidance.
- Maintain confidential client records and communications securely.
- Prepare proposals and quotes and support client meetings and site visits.
- Contribute to continuous improvement across consulting processes and service delivery.
- Be a true SME in this space providing advice to clients and internal teams.
About you
- Experience in Licensed Club AML / VPOM / GPOM compliance, risk, governance, audit or a related advisory role.
- The ability to interpret regulatory requirements and translate them into practical client solutions.
- Solid written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organisation and time-management skills across multiple priorities.
- Confidence building relationships with clients and stakeholders at all levels.
- Sound judgement and discretion when handling confidential information.
- Willingness and ability to travel to club venues.
- Highly regarded: Experience in registered clubs, pubs, hospitality or gaming environments; relevant tertiary qualifications; ACAMS or related credentials; and experience delivering compliance training.
