We're looking for a dynamic and proactive Clinical Nurse Educator (CNE) for our Perioperative Department to work within a dynamic, collaborative multi-disciplinary team to support staff development and promote excellence in patient care. Where you'll be working

Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Hospital Perioperative Department services 8 Operating Theatres including specialities such as ENT, O&G;, Urology, General Surgery, Orthopaedics, Plastics, Vascular, Dental, Endoscopy and Emergency cases.



The department offers supported learning and professional development with a rotating roster including weekends and on-call requirements

What you'll be doing

The Scrub/Scout nurse Clinical Nurse Educator (CNE) works with the multidisciplinary team to provide patient services that is high quality and safe for all. The Clinical Nurse Educator will provide clinical teaching, skill accreditation and professional development support for all nursing staff within the Perioperative Unit within Hornsby Ku-ring-gai hospital. You will ensure staff across the service are equipped with the skills and knowledge they need to thrive.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:

- Holds AHPRA Registration as a Registered Nurse AND holds relevant clinical or education post registration qualifications or such education and clinical experience deemed appropriate by the employer.
- Demonstrated effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Demonstrated computer literacy.
- Demonstrated ability to practice safe nursing care and knowledge of policies and clinical practice guidelines.
- Demonstrated commitment to evidence based practice, continuous quality improvement and risk management.
- Current NSW Drivers Licence.
