The Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (Ahpra) works in partnership with 15 National Boards to implement the national regulatory scheme for health professionals. Ahpra’s purpose is to protect the public by regulating health practitioners efficiently and effectively in the public interest to facilitate access to safer healthcare for all the community.

The Notifier Support Service (NSS), within Ahpra's National Legal Practice, provides professional, trauma-informed process information and navigation support to notifiers and witnesses who raise serious concerns about registered health practitioners.

We are seeking experienced Social Workers to join this growing national service, with fixed-term opportunities available and the potential to be included in a merit pool for future opportunities.

Working as part of a small, specialist team, you will collaborate closely with Regulatory and Legal Advisors to provide compassionate, clear and accessible process guidance.

In this role, you will:

- Support notifiers and witnesses to understand and navigate Ahpra's notification and legal processes, including preparation for tribunal hearings where relevant.
- Provide trauma-informed emotional and procedural support, including information and referral pathways. (Please note: this role does not provide therapeutic counselling.)
- Apply specialist knowledge to support individuals impacted by sexual misconduct and family, domestic and sexual violence, ensuring culturally protected, inclusive and responsive practice.
- Work collaboratively with Regulatory and Legal Advisors and other stakeholders to deliver coordinated, high-quality support.
- Monitor caseloads and contribute to the ongoing improvement of the Notifier Support Service.

About you

You are an experienced Social Worker who brings a trauma-informed, person-centred approach to supporting people through complex and emotionally challenging situations. You communicate with empathy, warmth and professionalism,



and are confident building relationships with a broad range of stakeholders.

You will also meet the following criteria:

- Degree in Social Work and eligibility for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
- Minimum 5 years' social work experience, including case management and supporting individuals through complex, sensitive or emotionally challenging processes.
- Experience working with people impacted by trauma, including sexual misconduct and/or family, domestic and sexual violence.
- Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary environments and apply sound judgement in sensitive situations.
- Current Working with Children Check (or ability to obtain).
