Occupational Therapist - Do allied health differently!

Sydney, NSW | Videri Australia

Some allied health roles are about appointments, paperwork and moving quickly to the next person.

This one is about changing how people live.

At Videri Australia , we support people living with dementia in small, home-like environments where life is built around relationships, choice, independence and what matters to each individual.

We’re looking for an exceptional Occupational Therapist who wants to bring their clinical expertise somewhere it can genuinely shape daily life.

Not from the sidelines.

Right in the middle of it.

Why this role is different

At Videri, allied health isn’t an add-on.

You’ll work alongside our clinical teams, social workers, home teams, residents and families to influence how people move, engage, participate, recover, adapt and continue doing the things that give life meaning.

That might mean:

- Supporting residents and their families in transition.

- Finding the perfect home for each resident.

- reducing falls risk without unnecessarily restricting freedom.

- finding practical ways for someone to keep cooking, gardening, walking or participating in community life.

- designing environments and routines that support independence.

- coaching teams to understand capability, not just risk.

- working creatively with residents whose needs don’t fit neatly into a textbook, and

- helping us challenge the idea that dementia automatically means doing less.

What you’ll bring

You’ll be a qualified Occupational Therapist with current AHPRA registration and a strong clinical foundation.

More importantly, you’ll bring:

- curiosity and excellent clinical reasoning.

- confidence working autonomously and collaboratively.

- a practical, solutions-focused approach.

- the ability to coach and influence others.

- a strong understanding of dignity, choice and positive risk-taking.

- genuine interest in dementia, ageing and maintaining independence.

- great communication with residents, families and multidisciplinary teams, and

- the willingness to question “this is how aged care has always done it”.

Experience in aged care, dementia, community care or neurological practice would be fantastic, but mindset matters enormously here.

What you could help us build

This isn’t simply a role where you inherit a caseload and keep the wheels turning.

You’ll have the opportunity to help shape Videri’s allied health approach, including.

- functional assessment and intervention.

- dementia-informed allied health practice.

- education and capability development.

- clinical pathways and evidence-based practice.

- resident and family education, and

- innovative ways of keeping people active, engaged and connected.

We want someone who gets excited by the phrase:

“There has to be a better way to do this.”

Because usually, there is.

Why Videri?

Our homes are small. Our approach is relationship-based. Our teams know the people they support. We believe independence should be protected, not quietly removed in the name of convenience.

You’ll join an organisation that is growing, questioning traditional aged care models and investing in clinical capability, education and better resident experiences.

You’ll also work with people who care deeply about getting this right.

And, refreshingly, you’ll have the opportunity to influence how the role develops.

The chance

This role would suit an OT or Physiotherapist who wants:

- meaningful clinical work.

- greater autonomy.

- multidisciplinary collaboration.

- the opportunity to influence service design.

- variety across residents, homes and clinical needs.

- a role combining hands-on practice, education and innovation.

- the chance to help create something genuinely better.

If you’re an Occupational Therapist who believes ageing and dementia should not mean losing identity, independence or possibility, we’d love to hear from you.

Come and help us do allied health differently.
