About the Role
You will be responsible for leading the curatorial development of exciting and innovative art strategies, art masterplans and art opportunity reports for public art projects, developing curatorial rationales, curating, briefing and liaising with national and international artists, to expand UAP’s reputation as a leading international company for public art. In addition to curatorial expertise, the role requires excellent project management and superior client management skills.
About You
You are an experienced curator with an ability to work to client briefs and deadlines. This position provides you with the opportunity to curate public art projects of significance on a global scale. You will be passionate about, and have knowledge of, contemporary art practice and its application to the public realm with an extensive knowledge of emerging and established artists and designers. You will have excellent research and writing skills, and an ability to lead communications with key clients and stakeholders. You thrive in a busy and high-performing team environment,
where you can flex your project management and organisational skills.
What You Need to Succeed
As a minimum, the successful candidate will hold a degree or higher qualification inCuratorial Studies, Art History or similar, with demonstrated previous experience working in curatorial practice (public art experience highly desirable), and will be able to demonstrate the following:
- Excellent knowledge of contemporary public art practices and an ability to apply experience to public art projects and urban environments
- Excellent knowledge of contemporary artists and designers internationally
- High level communication and organisational skills with demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines, in a high pressure creative environment
- Ability to be adaptive and self-sufficient whilst also being a proactive team member
- A strong desire to work collaboratively with a passionate and dedicated team working to deliver projects on time in a rapid-changing environment
- Excellent attention to detail and general administration skills
- Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills
- A demonstrated ability to write creatively, with excellent research skills
- An eye for crafting distinctive visual presentations
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office as a minimum with knowledge of InDesign highly desirable
Salary is negotiable and will be based on level of experience and alignment with attributes above upon selection.
