About the role

Are you passionate about helping students overcome barriers and stay engaged in their education journey? As a Student Experience and Retention Officer, you will play a vital role in supporting students through proactive welfare support, targeted engagement initiatives, and effective advocacy, helping them navigate challenges and stay on track with their studies.

About you

You will bring:

- A Diploma of Community Welfare or equivalentand/orexperience within community welfare or working towards a related qualification.
- Strong skills in providing intervention, counselling, and welfare support to students at risk of disengagement.
- Experience working with local support services and building referral networks.
- Excellent communication, conflict resolution,



and negotiation skills.
- High-level organisational skills, includingaccuraterecord-keeping and reporting.
- A flexible, creative, and proactive approach to supporting student success and wellbeing.
- A proactive and professional approach, with a commitment tomaintainingconfidentiality and integrity.

What you’ll need

Successful applicants willbe requiredto provide:

- a current National Police Check (issued within three months of commencement)
- a current Employee Working with Children Check (or evidence of application)
- a current driver's licence
