Role
Granata’s Pemulwuy is looking for an experienced Cook to support the restaurant’s day-to-day kitchen operations. The Cook will be responsible for preparing, seasoning and cooking menu items in accordance with established recipes, quality standards and presentation requirements. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with Chefs and other kitchen staff to ensure meals are prepared efficiently and consistently during service. Applicants must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced kitchen environment, follow instructions from senior kitchen staff, manage their time during busy service periods and maintain high standards of food quality, hygiene and safety.

Responsibilities and Duties
-Set up workstations with required ingredients and cooking equipment;
-Check the cleanliness of equipment and kitchen areas before food preparation and cooking;
-Check the quality of raw materials and weigh and prepare ingredients;




-Follow established recipes and instructions when preparing and cooking menu items;
-Season, prepare and cook food using appropriate cooking techniques;
-Regulate the temperatures of ovens and other cooking equipment;
-Monitor the quality, portioning and presentation of dishes and ensure food is stored appropriately to maintain freshness and food safety;
-Clean cooking equipment and maintain high standards of kitchen hygiene, cleanliness and workplace safety;
-Assist with stock rotation and storage, and support senior Chefs and other kitchen staff to maintain effective operations during service periods.

Qualifications and Skills
-AQF Certificate III including at least two years of on-the-job training, or AQF Certificate IV (ANZSCO Skill Level 3);
-Relevant qualifications required; however, 3 years of relevant experience may substitute for the qualifications;
-Have at least 3 years of experience as a Cook;
-Demonstrated knowledge of food preparation and cooking techniques;
-Ability to follow recipes and instructions and consistently prepare dishes to the required standard;
-Ensure quality products are prepared and presented; and
-Have experience in upholding proper health and safety requirements in the kitchen.

Salary: $78,000 - $80,000.
