Joyce Mechanical Services is seeking an experienced HME Component Rebuild Fitter to join our Mackay-based workshop team supporting the growth of our rapidly expanding component repair division. This position will be responsible for disassembling, inspecting, repairing, and reassembling major mechanical components including but not limited to transmissions, final drives, differentials, hydraulic cylinders and pumps and motors.
Our component repair department plays a critical role in delivering quick, reliable turnaround times for our clients’ heavy machinery needs. This workshop-based position operates on a 7:7 dayshift only roster with 12-hour shifts, running from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm .
Position Responsibilities
- Strip down components for inspection and cleaning
- Replace or refurbish worn or damaged parts
- Assess wear, damage, or failure causes
- The disassembly,
inspection and assembly of heavy machinery components
- Test rebuilt components for quality and performance
- Quality control & compiling reports
- Generating parts list
We are looking for
- Experience with mining or heavy machinery (e.g. CAT & Komatsu)
- Failure analysis and Hydraulic testing experience beneficial but not required
- Ability to use diagnostic tools and precision measuring instruments
- Understanding of hydraulic and drivetrain systems
- Safety-first mindset and attention to detail
