Trainer & Assessor – VET

Monash Polytechnic College (MPC) is a growing Registered Training Organisation (RTO) delivering quality vocational education and training across Melbourne and Sydney.

We are seeking experienced, qualified and industry-current Trainer & Assessors to join our growing academic team. We are looking for passionate VET professionals who can deliver engaging training, conduct quality assessments and support students to successfully complete their qualifications.

We welcome applications from trainers with experience across building, construction, trades and business qualifications.

Training Areas

We are currently seeking Trainer & Assessors for the following areas:

- Certificate III in Bricklaying and Blocklaying
- Certificate III in Roof Plumbing
- Certificate III in Wall and Floor Tiling
- Diploma of Building and Construction (Building)
- Certificate III in Glass and Glazing
- Certificate III in Solid Plastering
- Certificate III in Cabinet Making and Timber Technology
- Diploma of Business

Locations: Melbourne VIC and Sydney NSW

About the Role

As a Trainer & Assessor, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality training and assessment in accordance with MPC's Training and Assessment Strategies (TAS), academic policies and VET regulatory requirements.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Delivering engaging and structured classroom, workshop and practical training
- Conducting competency-based assessments in accordance with unit requirements
- Marking assessments and providing clear, constructive and timely feedback
- Supporting students throughout their learning and assessment journey




- Maintaining accurate attendance, assessment and academic records
- Ensuring training and assessment activities are delivered in accordance with the relevant TAS
- Participating in assessment validation, moderation and continuous improvement activities
- Maintaining current vocational skills, industry knowledge and currency
- Working collaboratively with academic and administrative staff
- Complying with MPC policies, procedures and relevant VET regulatory requirements

Essential Requirements

- TAE40116 or TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
- Relevant vocational qualification(s) for the training area
- Demonstrated experience in vocational education and training
- Current industry skills and knowledge relevant to the qualification being delivered
- Sound understanding of competency-based training and assessment
- Strong communication, organisational and record-keeping skills
- Commitment to quality training, assessment and student outcomes

Highly Desirable

- Previous experience working within an RTO
- Experience delivering practical and workplace-based training
- Experience using Moodle or other Learning Management Systems
- Experience participating in validation and moderation activities
- Strong student engagement and support skills
- Current industry employment or demonstrated industry currency
