Our client is a premier national engineering and technical consultancy known for delivering complex infrastructure, water, and environmental projects. They partner with major utility providers to design and optimise critical community infrastructure.
About the Position
This Adelaide-based role provides technical leadership in water servicing strategies to support major growth programs. You will oversee hydraulic modelling, evaluate developer connection impacts, determine infrastructure triggers, and mentor junior engineers.
Key Responsibilities Include
Undertake and supervise water network modelling to support strategic growth programs.
Assess network capacity and infrastructure triggers for major housing and development precincts.
Conduct steady-state and extended-period hydraulic simulations to resolve network constraints.
Evaluate developer connection enquiries and provide clear, defensible technical advice.
Provide technical leadership, peer reviews, and day-to-day supervision for up to 5 engineers.
Contribute technical input into long-term capital investment pipelines and infrastructure staging.
Skills and Experience Required
Tertiary qualifications in Civil, Environmental, or Water Engineering.
10+ years of experience in water network planning and hydraulic modelling.
Highly desirable: Prior experience within a water utility environment and/or engineering consultancy.
Proven expertise in applying hydraulic modelling to growth strategies and developer assessments.
Demonstrated ability to provide technical leadership, mentorship, or team management.
Strong stakeholder communication skills with a safety-first and collaborative approach.
Versatile contract arrangements (PAYG or ABN options with weekly pay processing).
Highly competitive hourly rates ($85 – $125/hr + GST if applicable).
High-visibility senior leadership position on critical regional infrastructure programs.
