Medical Receptionist (1x Full-time and 1x Part-time Role)

Join our growing multiple disciplinary medical practice and become part of a friendly, professional team.

THELab Orange is a busy and expanding specialist medical practice providing a range of specialist and surgical consultations, respiratory services and sleep studies to patients throughout the Central West and beyond.

We are seeking two enthusiastic and professional Medical Receptionists to join our reception team.

About the Role

This is a varied and rewarding position within a busy specialist medical environment. The successful applicant will be responsible for providing high-quality front-of-house and administrative support to our patients, doctors and clinical teams.

Key responsibilities include:

- Welcoming patients and providing professional, compassionate customer service.
- Answering and managing a busy telephone system.
- Scheduling and coordinating across multiple clinicians’ diaries, patient appointments and surgeries.
- Understanding clinical urgency and the process of triage.
- Processing payments and maintaining accurate patient accounts (Private Billings, Medicare, DVA, Health Funds and third-party billings).
- Managing referrals, correspondence and medical records.
- Liaising with doctors, specialists and other healthcare providers.
- Supporting our sleep and respiratory services.
- Always maintaining patient confidentiality and privacy.




- General everyday administrative and reception duties.
- Occasional Saturday clinic’s (Penalty rates applicable).

About You

We are looking for someone who:

- Has previous medical reception or healthcare administration experience.
- Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Is confident working in a busy environment and able to multitask.
- Has strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Is professional, friendly and approachable both in person and over the phone.
- Demonstrates empathy and patience when dealing with patients.
- Can work both independently and as part of a team.
- Has a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Is reliable, punctual and takes pride in their work.
- Experience with Genie medical software would be advantageous, although training will be provided to the right applicant.

Employment: Full-time x1

Part-time x1

Hours: Full time position 38 hours per week (standard business hours)

Part-time position- Minimum 2 days per week (Standard business hours)

Part-time $30-40K

Start date: to be negotiated
