We are seeking a skilled Fitter to join our Port Melbourne team. This role is ideal for a hands‑on professional with strong mechanical expertise and experience in heavy manufacturing environments.
Afternoon shift: Monday to Friday, 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM
What You'll Do:
- Perform troubleshooting and breakdown maintenance across a wide range of mechanical and electro‑mechanical systems.
- Carry out bearing fitting, V-belt maintenance, laser alignment, and general mechanical rebuilds.
- Maintain and repair pumps, pneumatics, hydraulics, and press fittings.
- Ensure protected and productive operation of equipment within a large‑scale manufacturing environment.
Qualifications & Experiences
- Trade qualified Mechanical Fitter or Fitter & Turner
- FMCG Experience (highly regarded)
- Proven experience in industrial or manufacturing maintenance
- Strong understanding of hydraulic, pneumatic, and vacuum systems
- Confident fault‑finding and diagnostic skills
- Able to work independently and within a team environment
- Safety‑focused with a commitment to quality
- Forklift license, boom lift (over 11m) and scissor lift tickets (highly regarded)
- Working at Heights certification (highly regarded)
- First Aid certificate (highly regarded)
- Basic Rigging ticket (highly regarded)
